Marcus grew up in North Wales and left school at 16 to work on sheep, cattle farms and land irrigation in Australia. He returned to the UK in 1988 to study Agricultural Management and went into sales for the dairy-farming sector but Marcus’ s passion was always in food so he started his own BBQ sauce range having had experience working at Patchwork Pates for the family business for
10 years. Armed with this knowledge and personal experiences of the challenges that food producers faced Marcus created ‘ Carter Food House ’ a national wholesaler to butchers and fish shops, then followed this up with the ‘ Virtual Farmers Market ’ an online sales platform for producers.
“My passion to help independent food companies have a voice has been the driving force behind many of my ventures and is my primary incentive behind The Artisan Food Club”. Marcus Carter
